Introduction

Polyester Geotextile is a non-woven geosynthetic material made of polyester (polyester) through needle punching or hot bonding. It has good mechanical properties, water permeability, corrosion resistance and anti-aging properties, and is widely used in engineering fields such as water conservancy, transportation, environmental protection, and construction.

 

Advantages

1. Good mechanical properties
Polyester geotextile has a high tensile strength of up to 11400 pounds per foot (200kN/m). Compared with ordinary geotextiles, it can more effectively improve the stability of soil structures in reinforcement, slope protection, and protection projects. Its tear strength is between 57 and 570 pounds (0.25 - 2.5kN), which can withstand irregular tension generated during construction and use, reducing the risk of material damage. In addition, the compressive strength is as high as 58 psi (400kPa), which can maintain structural integrity when subjected to long-term compression by soil or external loads, helping to enhance the durability and reliability of the overall system.

 

2. Strong ductility
The elongation of the material ranges from 20% to 50%, which can adapt to foundation settlement, structural deformation or geological displacement to a certain extent, thereby effectively buffering the transmission of external stress and reducing damage caused by stress concentration.

 

3. Support good drainage and filtration
The permeability of polyester geotextile is between 10⁻² and 10⁻⁴ meters per second. It can prevent soil particles from entering the drainage system while meeting the drainage requirements, thereby maintaining water circulation and preventing silt blockage. This feature makes it widely used in multifunctional systems such as filtration, drainage, and anti-seepage, and is suitable for projects such as dams, tunnels, and landfills that have high requirements for drainage systems.

 

4. Various specifications
The thickness of polyester geotextile ranges from 1 to 4 mm (0.04 - 0.16 inches), and the unit area mass is between 150 and 750 grams/square meter (4 - 22 oz/yd²). It can be selected or customized according to the functional requirements and engineering levels of different projects.
