What is Geocell?

A geocell is a material with a three-dimensional honeycomb structure that adapts to the shape of the installation site, made of high-density polyethylene perforated strips at certain points by extrusion welding to form a single unit, capable of adapting to surface changes and at the same time being able to resist impact damage due to its flexibility.

The purpose of a geoweb is to limit the material it fills in order to achieve a surface erosion control system. The cell wall permeates water, air, and nutrients, resulting in improved stability and plant performance. A variety of filler materials, including virgin soil and recycled aggregates, can be used in it to reduce waste and overall construction costs.
 

The perforation of the geocell allows for effective hydraulic behavior and prevents saturation of the filling material, making it ideal for vegetation slopes with very hard terrain or rocky terrain, as sufficient topsoil restrictions and thicknesses can be achieved to generate vegetation. It retains vegetation as the water flows through, reducing the speed to avoid scouring the slope walls, thus preserving the original part of the river channel. Its placement does not require specialized labor.
