What are the basic features of geocell(also named geoweb)?

What is geocell used for?

1. Deal with half-filled and half-dug roadbed.
When building the embankment on the slope with a natural slope steeper than 1:5 on the ground, the embankment base should dig steps, and the width of the steps shall not be less than 1M, when the highway is widened in stages, the junction of the new and old subgrade fill slopes should be excavated, and the width of the high-grade highway steps is generally 2M, and the geocell is laid on the horizontal surface of each layer of steps, and the facade side limit reinforcement effect of the geocell itself is used to better solve the problem of uneven settlement.

2. Roadbed in wind-blown sand area.
The roadbed in the wind-sand area should be dominated by low embankment, and the filling height is generally not less than 0.3M. Due to the low roadbed and heavy bearing professional requirements of the roadbed construction in the wind-sand area, the use of geocell can play a limiting role in the loose filler, and the roadbed has high stiffness and strength in a limited height to withstand the load stress of large vehicles.

3. The subgrade of the platform is filled with soil and reinforced.
The use of geocell can better realize the purpose of platform back reinforcement, and sufficient friction can be generated between the geocell and the filler, which can effectively reduce the uneven settlement between the roadbed and the structure, and finally effectively alleviate the early impact damage of the bridge deck caused by the disease of "abutment jumping".

4. Subgrade in permafrost area.
The minimum fill height should be reached when the fill subgrade is built in the permafrost area to prevent the occurrence of slurry turning or causing the upper limit of the frozen layer to drop, resulting in excessive settlement of the embankment. The unique façade reinforcement effect of the geocell and the overall limitation of effective implementation can ensure the minimum fill height in some special sections to the greatest extent and make the fill have high-quality strength and stiffness.

5. Loess collapsible roadbed treatment.
When the highway and the first-class highway pass through the collapsible loess and the loess section with good compressibility, or when the allowable bearing capacity of the foundation of the high embankment is lower than the pressure of the vehicle co-load and the self-weight of the embankment, the subgrade should also be treated according to the bearing capacity requirements, and the superiority of the geocell is undoubtedly manifested.

6. Saline soil, expansive soil.
The use of saline soil, expansive soil to build the highway, a highway, shoulder and slope are reinforced measures, the façade reinforcement effect of the lattice is the most excellent of all the reinforcement materials, and it has excellent corrosion resistance, can fully meet the requirements of building high highways in saline soil and expansive soil.
