Introduction
Polypropylene Geotextile is a geosynthetic material made of polypropylene (PP) fiber as the main raw material through needle punching or hot bonding process. It has good mechanical properties and chemical stability and is widely used in civil engineering and environmental protection projects.
Advantages
1. High strength and excellent durability
Polypropylene geotextile uses high-strength polypropylene short fibers in the production process, and the connection between fibers is enhanced through the needle punching process, which has good mechanical properties. The product has high tensile strength in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, of which the longitudinal tensile strength is ≥12 kN/m and the transverse tensile strength is ≥10 kN/m. It can withstand large tensile and tearing forces in complex construction environments, and is suitable for heavy-loaded roadbeds, slope reinforcement and other projects to ensure the long-term stability of soil structures.
2. Excellent chemical corrosion resistance
Polypropylene materials themselves have the characteristics of chemical corrosion resistance and can resist the erosion of various acid, alkali and salt media. Therefore, the material can still maintain stable performance in highly corrosive environments, especially suitable for projects such as landfills and industrial wastewater treatment areas. In the underground humid and acid-base alternating environment, polypropylene geotextile will not degrade significantly in a period of more than 10 years, ensuring the durability of the engineering structure.
3. Good water permeability and filtration performance
While ensuring mechanical properties, the geotextile also has good hydraulic properties. The hydraulic aperture (O90) of the product ranges from 0.07–0.2 mm, which can effectively prevent fine particles from penetrating and prevent drainage channels from being blocked. At the same time, its vertical permeability coefficient k ≥ 1.0 × 10⁻¹ cm/s has a stable water permeability, which helps to smoothly discharge water from the drainage system, reduce the pore water pressure of the soil, and improve the stability of the overall structure.
4. UV aging resistance
In order to improve the stability of the product in the outdoor environment, the polypropylene geotextile is added with UV stabilizers during the production process, which can resist the molecular chain breakage caused by long-term UV radiation. Under natural climate exposure conditions, its performance can be maintained continuously, and the overall service life exceeds 20 years. It is suitable for slope protection, water conservancy revetment, landfill and other projects with long-term exposure, reducing maintenance costs and replacement frequency.
