EPDM Waterproofing Membrane is a high-performance waterproof material made of EPDM as the main raw material, with appropriate amount of additives and fillers added, and made by mixing, extrusion or calendering, and vulcanization.

 

Advantages

1. Excellent high and low temperature resistance
EPDM has a wide operating temperature range and can maintain the flexibility and mechanical properties of the material itself in an environment of -40℃ to +120℃ without brittle cracking or softening. This property makes it suitable for building environments from extremely cold and high-latitude areas to hot and high-temperature areas.

 

2. Excellent elongation and elasticity
The elongation of EPDM waterproofing membrane can reach ≥500%, which is significantly higher than the 300% specified in the "GB 18173.1-2012 Synthetic Polymer Waterproofing Membrane" standard. This high elongation performance can effectively cope with the deformation of the building base layer caused by settlement, cracking, temperature changes, etc., and avoid the waterproof layer from breaking or falling off. In addition, the material has good resilience. After long-term use, it can still maintain the proper elasticity and adhesion to the base layer, reducing the subsequent maintenance costs.

 

3. Excellent chemical corrosion resistance
EPDM rubber has stable resistance to common chemical media such as acid, alkali, and salt, and is suitable for places with strong corrosive environments, such as chemical plants, sewage treatment plants, etc. After continuous immersion in 5% sulfuric acid and 10% sodium hydroxide solution for 168 hours, the physical properties of the material did not decrease significantly, indicating that its internal structure has strong tolerance to corrosive substances and is not easily damaged by chemical media.

 

4. Low water absorption, more durable waterproofing
The water absorption rate of the product itself is less than 1%, which means that it basically does not absorb water and can effectively block water penetration for a long time. This feature not only extends the service life of the roll material, but also improves the waterproof safety of the overall building. In order to ensure that the joints also have excellent waterproof capabilities, the roll material supports hot air welding or special adhesive connection, which can form a reliable sealing interface to avoid the overlap becoming a leakage hazard.
