The role of fiberglass geogrid in road surface

Adding an upper layer of asphalt to some aged cement pavement can mainly enhance the performance of the pavement, but it cannot enhance the bearing function of the pavement. The overall bearing function of the highway is reflected in the roadbed, so adding a layer of asphalt to the concrete pavement is still the main bearing body. On some aged asphalt pavement, asphalt overlay is different, and adding an asphalt layer will bear the load together with the aged asphalt pavement. Therefore, when applying asphalt overlay on asphalt pavement, in addition to some cracks, fatigue cracking may also occur due to long-term loading. We have conducted stress analysis on the load situation of asphalt pavement: due to the relatively soft strength of the asphalt overlay, when it is subjected to a relatively large load, the surface of the asphalt pavement will experience sinking.
Fiberglass geogrids have the characteristics of high strength, low elongation, high temperature resistance, high modulus, light weight, good toughness, corrosion resistance, and long service life. They can be widely used in the maintenance of old cement pavements, airport runways, embankments, river banks, slope protection, road and bridge pavement reinforcement treatment and other engineering fields.
Fiberglass geogrids can enhance and reinforce the road surface, prevent fatigue cracks caused by rutting, thermal and cold expansion cracks, and reflection cracks below the road surface. They can also disperse the bearing stress of the road surface, extend the service life of the road surface, have high tensile strength and low elongation, no long-term creep, good physical and chemical stability, good thermal stability, fatigue cracking resistance, high-temperature rutting resistance, low-temperature shrinkage cracking resistance, and delay the reduction of reflection cracks.
